All surfaces to be bonded should be dry, clean, grease and dust free. Hold the Grabfast spray gun parallel to the substrate and apply an even coat of adhesive across it, a webbing effect should be created. Do not allow the adhesive to puddle or concentrate in one area. In order to prevent this from happening the EDPM spray gun is fully adjustable by turning the wheel located behind the trigger. The wider the spray pattern being applied the further away the nozzle should be held. The tip of the spray gun should always be kept clean.
It is recommended that you keep a spare tip, one in use and one cleaning, additional tips are available from your local representative.
It is important to remember that Grabfast is a EPDM contact adhesive and forms its bond by sticking to itself hence there must be sufficient adhesive on both substrates to allow this to happen. On insulation the coverage should be approximately 80%. It should be noted that it can be applied directly onto the insulation. On EPDM rubber the user should ensure that 100% coverage is achieved.
The two surfaces are ready to bond when the adhesive is dry to the touch with no transference to the fingers; once they are brought together a roller should be used to achieve maximum performance. It is the users responsibility to ensure the suitability of Grabfast for the substrates that are to be bonded.
